In 2015, Hugo Boss first released Boss The Scent, a spicy, aromatic scent for men. Its base notes are leather and woody, its middle notes are maninka and lavender, and its top notes are ginger, Mandarin orange, and bergamot. Bruno Jovanovic and Pascal Gaurin designed it.HUGO BOSS specializes on providing upscale fashion and lifestyle items, such as apparel, accessories, eyewear, and fragrances, for both men and women.

In 1985, the first modern scent was introduced: Hugo Boss Cologne for Men, also known as Boss No. 1. Although Hugo Woman was a big hit and spawned a number of different men's scents in the mid-1980s and early-1990s, women were not able to get their hands (and noses) on it until 1997.
